ARTIST TRANSFORMS PAINTINGS INTO FASHION
It is hard to imagine the painstaking work that must have been put into the dress made of thousands of hand-painted butterfly wings. This unique design was made by the established painter Zita-Barbara inspired to make a line of clothing around her oil paintings.
“I wanted to make a dress that looked like thousands of butterflies landed on someone and decided to make a dress.”
The artistic fashion designer is inspired most by the work of Alexander McQueen who she says is probably first to use fashion as performance art. Zita aspires to further that notion by using her art to inspire her collection for International Fashion Week hosted in Las Vegas next year.
Now available online are items like the 100% Vegan Silk Cocoon Wrap of the painting which inspired this extrodinary dress design.
